Immerse yourself in the pool nestled amongst the rice or just languish on the shaded deck.
The separate open air Dining pavilion offers a la carte cooking facilities amidst the endless green rice fields and pink sunsets. Alternatively, you can eat at the famous Sari Organik or Pomegranate restaurants with whom we share the rice fields. At the Rice Joglo you will marvel at how the smallest everyday events are transformed by the simplicity, beauty and magic of the rice fields.
Its hard to believe that the Rice Joglo hasn’t always stood in this rice field. Many people say it looks completely at one with it. The original Rice Joglo was built in Java in the last century. Traditional craftsmen used antique teak, carving intricate Dutch detailing in a design that is absolutely one of a kind – there wasn’t another made like it in the whole of Java.
In 2011 it was transported to Bali, where it was to find its second life amidst the expansive green rice fields of Ubud. The new owners reassembled the old Joglo and oversaw a meticulous restoration. This ensured each original detail was preserved and showcased. The soaring cathedral style ceilings, carved fretwork on all the balconies, the oversized antique planks forming the floors and the charming attic style door rising from the Master Suite floor.
