The Real Mosteiro de Nossa Senhora da Conceição or "Royal Monastery of Our Lady of the Conception" was founded in the second half of the fifteenth century. The Church, or "Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição" with a single nave, is lined with gilded carvings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
